Gracie was our first Finnish Lapphund and the 12th lappie in Canada, because of her our lives have changed with more Finnish Lapphunds and many new friends around the world. Thank you to Linda Marden for Gracie and all the guidance along the way she continues to be my mentor and friend. In September 2004, Gracie became a UKC CHAMPION! On July 6, 2007 Gracie made history by becoming the first Finnish Lapphund at a Canadian Kennel Club show to receive Best of Breed! Then one year to the day Gracie became a new CKC Champion Jul 4, 2008 at Portage La Prairie Kennel club and even had a litter in between. Thank you Michelle Rogowski who showed her for her first points and her last needed point. Gracie is a very special FL in Canada. She is well constructed with a beautiful head and expression, balanced proportions and friendly Lappie temperament. Her pedigree includes Kello Reijo who is a proven sire with many outstanding litters in Europe. Gracie’s first litter was born Dec 18, 2006 she surprised us with 8 puppies and she was a great mom . Gracie’s second litter of 6 surprised us with two domino patterned boys. One just had to stay at Shadagrace (Teemu).
She passed the CKC Herding Instinct Test Sep 09 and got the first leg to a CKC Herding title. In Sep 2010 she got her 2nd leg and is the first lappie to get a working herding title. She certainly can move when she sees sheep.
Gracie was to be spayed but surprised us and came into season unexpectedly. We thought it was meant to be when we found out Bruce (GrCh Sugarok Born in the USA) was in town at the right time. Her 3rd litter gave us 6 beautiful pups. One girl just had to stay, Fergie.
JULY 2014, GRACIE WENT BACK IN THE RING THINKING WE GO FOR VETERANS AND ALSO GOT BEST OF OPPOSITE under finnish judge Marja Talvitie. The same day she worked hard and got her CGN TITLE, never too old.

After having 1 Finnish Lapphund we needed another. It turns out Skyla is Gracie’s niece. She is a real character that is full of energy and tons of fun! She has many sheltie friends and sometimes I think she acts like one with “bouncing” energy. She loves to go to agility classes and we hope to compete soon. She is at the smaller end of the standard for a female FL, is very well balanced and a delight to show with her “happy” tail. Her wolfsable colouring is so pretty.
At the CKC Fort Garry Kennel club show held Oct 11th , 2008 Skyla became a CKC CHAMPION!!! She has not been entered in many shows but when she won she was always against at least 6 dogs. She received 4 wins with 3 points each time.
We thought she’d like to try out herding so brought her for a CKC Herding Instinct test. It is a real thrill to watch these dogs work. They aren’t reindeer but Skyla knew exactly what to do and received her first working title a HIC. You can watch a clip on the following link
Skyla had her first litter Jan 21st sired by Janmanin Aleksanteri “Api”. She only had 2 pups but they are sure making a presence in the show ring. Shadagrace Bolt Lightning is Skyla’s 1st CKC Champion pup. Shadagrace Precious Rain has also received her CKC Championship. Her 2nd litter was sired by Sugarok See Me Now “OAKLEY” and born on Apr 25th , 2009. She surprised us with 7 pups and 4 of them being brown. They are the first browns born in Canada.
Skyla made history having the first litter born with frozen semen. Thank you Sarah Brandes, Lapinlumon Kennel in Demark for allowing Onni to be brought to Canada and to Linda Marden, Sugarok Kennel for helping to make this happen. Shadagrace Onni's PIPER will be in the show ring summer 2010.

Teemu is the first Shadagrace bred pup to stay at our kennel. (Teemu means "Victory") His coloring is called Domino and is a resessive colour and very rare. He was a very happy puppy and is a now a happy teenager who greets you with a smile and tail that won’t stop. We are very pleased with the way he is maturing. His coat is thick and top coat is harsh. He looks like his dam Gracie but as he gets older is also looking like his sire Buster.
Oct 12th at CKC Fort Garry Kennel Club show, Teemu beat all the gils and a special for a 3 point win at 8 months old to get Best of Winners and Best Puppy. He currently has 9 points towards his championship. I believe Teemu will only get better and better! Teemu got his CKC Championship at the Northwinds Dog Show Mar 27, 2010! He passed the CKC Herding Instinct test Sep 09.

Oakley is the first male dog I have owned and I now know why people usually say males are just more willing to please. He is a huggy boy and wants to be by my side all the time. He often looks so serious in pictures but really he has a clown like personality that makes us laugh everyday. Oakley is structurally sound with a very masculine head. He stands 19 1/2 in. and 48lbs and his temperament is so sweet and true to the breed.
Oakley’s pedigree is unique in North America, his sire lives in Finland Taapanterin Huippumies and his dam is an import from Finland Orso-Farm Loddi.
He sired his first litter January 08. His daughter My Sidekick Maiden Manitoba, owned by Janice Thomaschewski won Best Female and then Best in Puppy group at only 6 months old. Way to go, Tobi! April 09 he sired a litter to our Skyla, which produced 7 beautiful pups. I wasn't planning to keep a pup from this litter but one little girl really caught my eye. She is named Shadagrace Starring Capella "ELLA" and is co-owned with Ron Cadid. May 2012 Oakley is now retired and does a great job playing with the new pups when we have litters and making us smile.
